Liz & Matt’s Home Extension Blog

We did our first ever car boot sale on Saturday morning in an attempt to get rid of some of the accumulated stuff that we have decided we no longer need.  The weather stayed fine all morning and we came back with marginally less stuff than we took. In the afternoon it started to rain and, by that evening, the fine coating of clay dust that was previously covering the drive and all of the exits from the building had turned to slime.  Venturing anywhere near the excavations became a whole new type of adventure.

On Sunday, it rained some more.  Today, just for a change, it rained.  They say an Englishman’s home is his castle and we now have the moat to prove it!

It was too wet for any building work to take place, but the builders did come to deliver some sand and to make jokes about needing boats.  In the mean time, they have managed to arrange a cosy, warm & dry job indoors at the village hall.
