Liz & Matt’s Home Extension Blog

Today the sun shone and, while I was at work, some walls suddenly sprang up out of nowhere.  This is most inconvenient since we can no longer step over the foundations and have to walk around to where the back door will be.



The steel for the kitchen wall did not arrive as expected today so we’re not sure whether or not this will get done tomorrow.  Just in case it does turn up, we have emptied most of the kitchen and moved the fridge into the living room.  In order to make space for this, I decided this evening to remove some of the previous occupant’s finest interior design work (you know, the curvy brick-built thing by the door), the matching fireplace surround and the mantle-piece.  This took a while but was very satisfying, since I’ve been itching to have a go at it for years.  It was also very loud but fortunately next door are away for the night.  I’m sure it’s supposed to be the parents who complain about the children keeping them awake by making too much noise late at night, not the other way around!
