The new tiles on the main part of the roof at the back look great and we now have a brand new velux roof window in the soon-to-be-en-suite.  Unfortunately, there has been no sign of the roofer since then, much to everyone’s annoyance.

First thing on Thursday morning a truck load of windows arrived and two of them (the bathroom and the new back bedroom) were fitted the same day.  After this they put up the partition wall between the bath and shower and skimmed the bathroom ceiling and some of the walls.  

The evening after the bathroom celing was finished, the roof above it (the part that hasn’t been tiled) sprang a leak.  Fortunately there wasn’t too much rain and the new plaster seems to have survived.  Last night (Friday), the cold water tank in the loft decided to overflow.  This has happened occasionally before but the overflow pipe that used to empty onto the garage roof now points into the loft space above our new bedroom. Finally got it stopped by going up into the loft and fiddling with the ball-cock, but not before it had made a large puddle on the bedroom floor.  Hopefully the floorboards haven’t been too badly damaged.

To cap it all, we’ve lost our broadband connection, so we’re back on dial-up until someone can figure out what the problem is.
