Things are afoot! Amongst them…
Long meeting with Andrew on Monday to discuss general issues and possible ways we can save some money (more on this later).
The rainwater tank has suddenly become an issue again with decisions being needed about what will go where and what connections will be required. Since the plumber completely failed to get any useful information I have had to reactivate my own research and have been busy e-mailing various suppliers for quotes and other information.
More work on the bathroom. The rest of the walls are now skimmed in lovely pink plaster - just a few bits to finish off once the plumbing is completed. Most of the plastering in Emma’s room has also been done.
The electrician has pretty much finished off the rest of the downstairs, including Ethernet connections in the living room and playroom. This was a bit of a last minute decision so I had to go and get the cable myself. Somebody suddenly remembered on Monday that we would soon need the mains meter moving so I had to contact the supplier to find out what we need to do. Once I got through their phone system, it turned out that I had already logged a job back in June (a small fact that we had all forgotten) and they have been waiting for me to give them the go-ahead since then. They are quoting 8 to 10 weeks lead time but I’m hoping that this is a conservative estimate that they use to stop people getting their hopes up.
The roofer has been on site both days so far and has more or less completed the tiling. Just the flat roofs to go after this.
