I dropped into the shop during the week to discuss the problem and they in turn contacted the manufacturers.  My observation about the difference in width between the top and bottom of the frame was dismissed as insignificant and the best they would offer was to send round an engineer to check out the problem.  They (the manufacturers) seemed convinced that it would turn out ot be an installation problem and not a faulty product and wanted an up-front payment for the call-out, which would be refunded if it did turn out to be a manufacturing problem.  Before commiting to this I asked for some critical measurements but this just seemed to throw them into confusion.  They eventually came up with a measurement for the distance between the pivot point and the frame, which, on investigation, turned out to be a full 10mm more than the corresponding measurement on ours, which would certainly explain why the door won’t close.  I’ll be back in the shop with this finding tomorrow, but I’m not holding out a lot of hope of convincing them.

On a more positive note, the rainwater tank should be delivered this Tuesday and the hole to put it in will be arriving on Thursday.  I’m hoping to be at home to supervise the installation (or at least to take some pictures) so I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
