One Momentous Day in November

by Liz & Matt Coates Nov.11.2007 10:02:55 pm

On Thursday this week (8 November 2007 - note it in your diary) our lovely builder (who, after having just finished the major project he has been working on for the last few months, managed to find time to pay us a visit) officially finished the job.  This involved sealing and grouting the last few kitchen floor tiles, replacing the ancient boards on the side of the dormer window and sealing around all of the new windows.  All of this was accomplished in less than a day, despite a major downpour and a power cut.

That’s not to say that the project is finished of course.  There is still the small matter of the central heating (due the end of this month) and some exterior lights (which should get installed when the electrician comes to do his part towards the central heating), plus all of the decorating we still have to do, but it was still an important milestone.

Since our last report, we’ve properly moved into the new living room, after putting up all of the curtains in the new downstairs rooms, and made a start on the kitchen wall tiles, about half of which are now up.  None have, as yet, fallen off but there’s still time.
