Liz & Matt’s Home Extension Blog

The kitchen floor tiles took most of the rest of last week to lay, seal and grout.  In between, the new hole in the wall was finished off and the last remaining bits of skirting board and architrave fitted.

Got all wound up ready to call the plumber on Thursday to enquire of him why he had still not told us when he would be coming to complete the job.  Then, the builders told me that he had said he would be coming the next day, so chickened out.  Much to no-one’s surprise, he didn’t turn up on Friday but said instead that he would be here on Wednesday.  We’re not holding our breath.

More work on the kitchen today and some odd bit of plastering and finishing.  Very little left to do inside now apart from the plumbing and a few odd electrical sockets and switches.  Oh, and the loft insulation still isn’t in but this is being held up by indecision about which of the various ‘natural’ (i.e. expensive) alternatives we are going to go for.  We may end up buying and installing this ourselves once the builder has given up waiting for a decision.
